Greetings All

On Friday, Scott Mills, Bill Tweit and I birded from Nisqually to Ocean
Shores and Tokeland. The species total was 114. Highlights included a Ross'
Goose and 2 White-fronts (at the Johns River between Aberdeen and Westport),
2 Snow Geese and a bittern at the Brady Loop ponds (viewable from road), a
Harlan's Hawk and a Eur X Am Green-winged Teal hybrid at Nisqually, and a WT
Sparrow at Vance County Park. Geese seem to be moving. There was a mixed
flock of Taverner's and Cackling Geese with a serious case of zuganrue at
Nisqually. We could not find the nominate Rock Sand at O.S.

On Saturday, the pelagic had a Manx Shearwater (earliest WA record to date --
previous early date being 9 April) and 1-2 Sabine's Gulls and 1-2 Laysan
Albatross. The weather was kind to us, holding off the nasty stuff until we
were on our way back. We could not refind the Ross' Goose Saturday pm.

Cheers
Steven Mlodinow
