http://www.maptricks.com/ - Ian Thomas tell his story on his own site. He
was interviewed yesterday on Pacifica Radio's "Democracy Now" about having
been fired from the US Fish & Wildlife Service. On NPR last night and this
morning Mike Dombeck's resignation as head of the National Forest Service
was reported. It happened for much the same reason as Thomas' firing,
evidently a result of an expected shift in natural resource policy toward
the consumptive. I don't mean to flood tweeters with political stuff (so as
not to be accused of more squawking) but keeping track of potential habitat
degradation should be a concern for all of us and is certainly a germane
topic for birders.
