Sunday March 25, 11:16 AM. Hi this is Stephen Mlodinow with a
somewhat belated report from Friday and Saturday. Sorry for the
delay. Friday with Scott Mills and Bill Tweit I birded from Nisqually
National Wildlife Refuge thru Brady Loop Road and out to Tokeland
and Ocean Shores. The rarest bird of the day was a ROSS GOOSE,
this was at the John's River between Aberdeen and Westport, across
from the big Ocean Spray Cranberry building. The bird was not present
Saturday afternoon. Also we had 2 WHITE FRONTED GEESE there.
At Brady Loop Road, at the pond from the road we were able to see 2
SNOW GEESE and an AMERICAN BITTERN. At Vance Creek County
Park we had a WHITE THROATED SPARROW. At Nisqually there was
a HARLAN'S HAWK and an EURASIAN AMERICAN GREEN WINGED
TEAL HYBRID. We were unable to relocate the dominant race ROCK
SANDPIPER at the Ocean Shores jetty. Tokeland still had 300 or so
MARBLED GODWITS and a WILLET. And at Midway Beach there were
still 20 or so SEMI-PALMATED PLOVERS and a couple of SNOWY
PLOVERS. Saturday was spent on the pelagic trip. The highlight was a
MANX SHEARWATER only a couple miles off shore, within the sight of land.
There was also 1 or 2 SALMON GULLS and 1 or 2 LAYSAN ALBATROSSES
seen, and that's about it. Good luck and good birding.

Wednesday, March 28, 8:03 pm Hi, this is Tom Aversa at 206 782 7342.
Today birding in the Snoqualmie and Snohomish valleys, had a couple of
notable birds: SAY'S PHOEBE near Carnation Farms, sort of in this big
white horse corral, approximately at the corner of 284th and 100th Street NE,
and had an immature GYRFALCON in the gyrfalcon spot in Snohomish, just
a little bit north of the Pilchuck River crossing. Had good looks at the bird, it
was definitely immature. Good luck and good birding.
