Hi, Tweets
Time for some literary stuff about North America's most gorgeous bird!! A
friend of mine in California recently sent me this poem he had written
about the turkey vulture and I know you wouldn't want me not to share . .
.. :-)
Cheers, Diann

Appreciating the Turkey Vulture
by Stan Moore
He's not shown much respect
In our land and culture
But his role is important
He's the turkey vulture
Superb in the soar
With a keen sense of smell
He consumes lots of carrion
On both hill and dell
He's graceful in flight
And remarkably quiet
And helps hold down disease
Because of his gruesome diet
With his featherless head
And his socialized style
He suns with wings spread
To relax for a while
It's a different sort of beauty
But fine nonetheless
We can learn to admire him
And wish him success
Yes, let's applaud his existence
Despite our neglectful culture
You know who I mean
The amazing turkey vulture
