Greetings All

In my guise of being a WA Bird Records Committee member, and being regional
editor for North American Birds, I have a favor to ask.

Could anyone seeing the Tricolored Blackbird(s) at Othello (or anywhere else
in WA) please send me a description. I know that this is a real pain and not
one of the fun aspects of birding. However, there is value in carefully
following this species as it colonizes parts of Washington. But Tricolored BB
identification is not without pitfalls. So, your help in documenting this
species' range expansion would be most appreciated.

The process of writing a description is simple and should not be
intimidating. Start with the number of birds, location, date. Give a brief
descripiton of viewing conditions (eg, distance, optics, lighting). Then
describe the bird in as much detail as possible, including shape, voice, etc.
(for male Tricolored BBs, this is pretty simple). Then a brief discussion of
how you made the ID and previous experience with the species involved and
similar species.

Again, all descriptions and help would be very much appreciated.

Best Wishes and Good Birding
Cheers
