WOW. Brian Bell and Jim McCoy joined me this morning, on a rather chilly,
mostly overcast day. Between last week and this week, there's been an
incredible change of species, with many things coming through this morning!
MANY more insectivores than last week.

Highlights:

Green Heron 1 near weir early
Wood Duck Saw 5-7 birds
Common Snipe 3 sightings
Bald Eagle Adult, and HUGE immature bird
Osprey Fishing over slough about noon
American Kestrel North of Rowing Club
CASSIN'S VIREO At least 3 different birds we think!
Warbling Vireo At least 3
Hermit Thrush In deep woods - almost positive of ID
Brown Creeper 1-2 birds at east end of boardwalk
Pacific-slope Flycatcher 1 near the creeper
Orange-crowned Warbler Perhaps 15
Yellow-rumped Warbler 100+, mostly Audubons
Wilson's Warbler Saw 4 males, heard maybe 6-10 more
Nashville Warbler 2 individuals
Lincoln's Sparrow East meadow

We had 5 swallow species, VIOLET-GREEN and TREE in abundance, plus 2-3 each of
BARN, CLIFF, and ROUGH-WINGED. We also had 1 VAUX'S SWIFT.

We flushed a possible RUFFED GROUSE at the east end of the boardwalk. Jim
McCoy has seen one at that same location some time ago.

We ended up birding from 7:00 AM until around 1:00 PM and had 57 species!
