I'm taking vacation the first week of May every year. In the last

Birds seen (in taxonomic order):

Northern Flicker 2 [1]
Steller's Jay 4 [2]
Common Raven 2
Violet-green Swallow 2
Black-capped Chickadee 2
Chestnut-backed Chickadee 2
Red-breasted Nuthatch 1
Townsend's Solitaire 2 [3]
American Robin 2
Black-throated Gray Warbler 1 [4]
Wilson's Warbler 1
Spotted Towhee 1
Song Sparrow 1
White-crowned Sparrow 2
Golden-crowned Sparrow 1 [5]
Dark-eyed Junco 13
Pine Siskin 2
Evening Grosbeak 2 [6]

Footnotes:

[1] The male and female were together in a large big-leaf maple.
[2] Maybe putting a cob of corn on the squirrel feeder kept four of
them here all day. The corn is gone and our Douglas squirrel
never touched it.
[3] First time I've EVER seen them. The pair were sitting on a huge
Douglas fir stump in the middle of our meadow.
[4] First time I've EVER seen this species. He let me get about 6
feet away. Close enough to see the yellow dots near his nose.
Beautiful bird!
[5] Sits in the middle of the fly through feeder and chases the
white-crowned sparrows away. Found one resting in some brush,
so I may have two, but never saw them together.
[6] I guess they're here to stay for the summer.

Total number of species seen: 19
