Hi Tweets:

Friday I went to my neighbor's house to see the Winter Wren that is nesting
in the opening of a yellow cable wheel. The wren is taking insects into the
nest. While watching with binoculars I heard a Wilson's Warbler, a bird that
I've seen in my yard. Then I heard another call that I recognized. Not
finding the bird, I pished. And Voila! in comes the Black-throated Gray
Warbler. Down low, easy to see and still singing. I hope there are more
around.

So, east of Woodinville folks, go outside and listen for the warblers.

While checking out some property for the Redmond Parks Department I found a
Dark-eyed Junco nest with four eggs in it. The female junco didn't fly until
I was almost upon her. Poor dear. The lovely nest is on the ground among
fallen conifer tree branches. I'll be checking on this nest, too. The
property isn't currently being used so she should be okay. I'll be filling
out nest records for the Burke Museum.
