Subject: Red Headed Gold Finch?

This morning, I returned from a walk at the Montlake Fill, and in the park
beside my house I spotted what I thought was a flock (4 or 5) of
goldfinches. Put my binocs to my eyes, and just before they flew, focused
on one with a red head. What? Did I see a Western Tanager? I thought they
lived in higher, drier Eastern Washington! Would this have been a flock of
tanagers, a single tanager communing with goldfinches, or ????

At the fill I saw a Least Sandpiper, along with Cinnamon, Green-winged,
Blue-winged Teals and American Widgeon.

Has anyone seen the Palm Warbler of late?
