The Ross' Goose is still being seen hanging out with the Greater
White-fronted and Canada Geese at Johns River WRA (across from Ocean Spray
on Hwy 105 towards Westport, the eastern more primitive trail). If you've
never birded this area now would be a great time to do it. It's a great
birding spot on the way to Bottle Beach, Westport, and Tokeland. The trail
goes in quite a ways but the best birding is the first 1/4 mile through the
forest and next to the wetlands. Right now the area hosts a large number of
shorebirds, ducks, and warblers. Also Sora and Virginia Rails.
