Hi Tweets,

My mother, who lives in Camas, WA, noticed last week that there were three
ospreys in the nest on the old highway near the One Stop shopping center,
between Camas and Washougal. She wants to know if they have babies already,
and when they fledge. Her email address is rgranny at webtv if you can help
her out. Thanks!

Meanwhile, here in Ketchikan, Alaska, on the beach at Herring Cove, I
started seeing shorebirds last week -- dowitchers, dunlin, western
sandpipers -- and a variety of ducks -- shovelers, green-winged teal,
American wigeons. The first half of April was easy, beautiful weather --
but the last few weeks have been cold and wet; foliage is opening, but very
very slowly -- kind of an endless spring. In my opinion, it's time to move
on!
