Yesterday I led a Birdathon trip for Rainier Audubon Society. Three people
joined me on the outing to Thurston County. All in all we had 112 species
during the day. Highlights included:

GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GOOSE (3+ flying over Nisqually NWR with Canadas)
RED KNOT (medium-sized flock on the sound, viewed from Nisqually NWR)
WILSON'S PHALAROPE (2 males at the Twin Barn's Ponds)
Great Horned Owl (probable female sat out in the open for a very long time)
ANNA'S HUMMINGBIRD (1 male at Black Lake Meadows)
LEWIS'S WOODPECKER (male at Nisqually NWR on boardwalk not far from visitor's
center)
HAMMOND'S FLYCATCHER (1 calling at Nisqually NWR)
VESPER SPARROW (1 flushed from side of road at Weir Prairie on the eastern
border)
