Hi Tweets & Denis --
I am jealous! You saw an Avocet! We commented all day on the
Black-Necked Stilts but NO Avocets. Glad to know they are around even if
they were hiding from us.
The hawk we saw could have been one of those that you noted. It was
rather dark with a reddish cast to its plumage. Still can't get over how
unconcerned it was by our presence. Usually you even slow down and they
fly away.
