Hi folks,

Today at noon, I had the opportunity to watch Crows 'pirating' food from
Starlings.

Starlings were foraging on the lawn of the Wash. Assn of Counties (?) bldg
at 11th and Franklin. Capturing some annelid worms, but mostly
'leatherjackets' (larvae of the European Crane Fly). At least 2 crows
would watch until a starling had a beak full, then would swoop on the
starling, which several times resulted in the starling dropping its food.
The crow would then drop to the ground and eat the food.

Not quite as flashy as Bald Eagles stealing fish from Ospreys, but still
pretty neat.
