I saw my very first BROWN PELICAN from the Seattle to Bremerton ferry in
Rich Passage back in June of 1996. Just one single bird. Haven't seen any
here since. Nice to hear there are more around!

Subject: Brown Pelican???
Hi folks,
I saw what sure looked like a BROWN PELICAN flying over Puget Sound this
morning, 5-11. 10:30 AM. I was on the A pier at Shilshole Marina and saw it
flying N about 30 - 50 feet off the water surface. I first spotted it off
West Point and it flew straight north until it flew out of sight. It was
pretty far out, but it sure looked like a Brown Pelican. Not much else
there, 4 Pigeon Guillemots, 2 Double crested Cormorants, 6 Caspian Terns,
lots of gulls out a ways, probably GWGU.
