We spent a brief time at Spencer Island Saturday morning. A bright sunny
day slowly
going hazy. Lots of YELLOW and WILSON'S WARBLERS, and so many
MARSH WRENS it's hard to hear anything else.

Good birds were two BITTERNS and a PILEATED WOODPECKER.

We'd given up on seeing woodpeckers when I spotted the Pileated.
My wife couldn't see it but we knew it was still there on the other side
of the large tree stump because of the debris that would come flying
out from behind the stump.
Eventually it came around so we could watch it for quite awhile.
