Today while exploring the ponds at the west end of the Brady Loop Road we
observed 12 whimbels in the plowed field near the ponds. On Foster Road we
found a dead sandhill crane lying by the side of the road. It looked like
it had been there for at least a couple of days. The scavengers had gotten
to most of it. The four sandhills which had visited daily for the past six
days did not show up today.
