Tweeters,

On Sunday afternoon, we hiked the Lower South Fork Skokomish Trail (No.
873) near Brown Creek Campground in Olympic National Forest, Mason County
and did some incidental birding along the way. We saw less than 20
species, but had some nice highlights, including two grouse species:

1 Barred Owl - perched in open alder forest
3 Ruffed Grouse - 1 seen, 2 separate birds heard drumming
1 Blue Grouse
6 Common Merganser
1 Pileated Woodpecker
3 Hairy Woodpecker
4 Northern Rough-winged Swallow
2 Western Tanager
