Thursday, May 10, 2001, 9:23 PM. Hi, Bill Tweit. On Tuesday, May 8th I had 12
BLACK-NECKED STILTS at Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge on the South loop,
the drive around loop. On Wednesday, May 9th at the Walla Walla River mouth I
had 24 WHITE-FACED IBIS, 2 WILLETS, 5 SANDERLINGS, and 2 flyby SNOWY EGRETS.
None of those were present Thursday, May 10th except for the SANDERLINGS.
That's it. Thank you and good birding.

Friday, May 11, 2001, 8:31 AM. Hi, this is Tom Aversa (206) 782-7342. This
week I birded the past couple of days. On Wednesday the 9th birding in Sequim
with Steve Gerstall the highlight was 1 or 2 PACIFIC GOLDEN PLOVERS at The
Three Crabs on a falling tide. We also had a WESTERN WOOD PEEWEE at the John
Wayne Marina and a HOUSE WREN up at Wilson Road. Yesterday I birded the Brady
area. The highlight was 10 RUDDY TURNSTONES in Satsop, west, just east of the
river. And also about 50 WHIMBRELS in the fields in the general area there.

Saturday, May 12, 2001, 8:43 PM. Hi, this is Steven Mlodinow. Today I had a
WESTERN KINGBIRD on Homemakers Road. Homemakers Road is reached by taking US
2 east from I-5 from Everett. Get off at the Homemakers Road exit. Follow the
road as curves west paralleling the freeway. The bird was hunting from a wire
there. Also at Dike District #9, near Snohomish, I had 2 WILSON'S PHALAROPES.
That's it. Good luck and good birding.

Sunday, May 13, 2001, 4:18 PM. This is Jan Bragg (206) 524-3460. CASPIAN
TERNS have been on the swim area raft at Magneson Park, Seattle, for the past
2 weeks. On April 28th there were 12. On April 29th there were 27. On May 5th
there were 37. And today there were still 10. BULLOCK'S ORIOLES were seen in
the park yesterday, as well as WILSON'S and YELLOW WARBLERS and a

Sunday, May 13, 2001, 9:23 PM. Hi, this is Steven Mlodinow. Today Jim Flynn
and I did the Skagit/Widbey. Highlight were at Crockett Lake there are now 3
AMERICAN ACOCETS, presumably some of the birds from last summer returning.
There was also a SEMIPALMATED SANDPIPER with a number of WESTERNS, LEASTS,
and DUNLIN. That's about it. Good Luck and good birding.

Tuesday, May 15, 2001, 3:05 PM. Hi, this is Bob Morse. A male HOODED ORIOLE
is being seen in Bothell, still, and the address at which he can be locate is
23511 53rd Ave SE in Bothell. It was seen several times today at that
address. The directions are to take the Mill Creek/Bothell exit from Highway
405. Go south on SR 527, on Everett-Bothell Highway. Go left on 228th St, up
along hill, and at the top of the hill, go right on 53rd Ave SE. This
particular residence is located at the end of the road on the left side. And
the bird can be watched from the street as it visits the hummingbird feeder
by the front door. It also frequents shrubs and dogwood trees there. And has
earlier today and yesterday afternoon been across the street at 23426 53rd
Ave SE.
