I was surprised to see this wood duck pair perched at the top of the tree
which is around 150 feet tall. This was sunday evening at Lake Fenwick in
Kent,WA,King County. Many times I've seen a bald eagle perched at the same
tree and same perch! This pair was preening very comfortably at that height.
It was really very enjoyable to see this pair taking a perch which is
normally occupied by Hawks and Eagles!

Other birds seen were Black-headed Grosbeak and a Clarks Nutcracker.
Today I saw a bald eagle picking up a stick and taking it to his nest. His
nest is to the east side of this lake, to the left of a dead tree which is
to the center of the lake.

On saturday, I saw one Spotted Sandpiper at Black River Riparian Forest in
Renton,WA,King county. The Common Yellowthroat(CY) which I've been watching
regularly (here) is very quiet now since two weeks, don't know why, but I've
been watching other CY's still singing at other places!
