hello tweets,

according to a story i heard this morning on NPR, the fire at CUH
was set by eco-terrorists who were hell-bent on destroying some
research with hybrid poplar trees that was ongoing in the lab that
was destroyed.

strangely enough, they apparently removed two plastic containers of
corn snakes from the lab where the fire was started and set them on
the lawn under the trees in the grove behind the building. when i was
there yesterday, i saw these two containers and was worried about the
snakes possibly overheating, but after a cursory inspection (NO, i
didn't touch them!), i decided they were okay for the time being.

a P-I story on the web (the P-I is doing an especially good job at
covering this story);
