Four ELWAS members went on our annual Whidbey Wing-Dings Bird-a-thon on
Monday, May 21. We left the Kingsgate P&R at 0555 and took the 0630 ferry
from Mukilteo to Clinton on Whidbey Is. We made stops at Double Bluff, L.
Hancock overlook, Crockett L., Fort Casey SP, Coupeville, Penn Cove, Bos L.,
Oak Harbor marina and sewage ponds, Dugualla Bay, Ala Spit, March Pt., Skagit
Flats, Stanwood ponds and Norman Road. We were back at P&R at 6:05 p.m. We
had 87 species during the trip and added 5 more from our backyards in the
evening for a grand total of 92, surpassing last years 86 species. Complete
