Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This
report was made Thursday May 24. If you have anything to add call Harry

A male BLACKPOLL WARBLER was along Upper Klamath Lake May 17. A
ROSE-BREASTED GROSBEAK was at Twickenham in Wheeler County during the
week. Male INDIGO BUNTINGS were in Skamania County, WA May 17; near Cape
Blanco May 22; and at Millicoma Marsh in Coos Bay May 23. A BLACK-CRONWED
NIGHT-HERON was at Millicoma May 23.

A male BROAD-TAILED HUMMINGBIRD was reported near Sisters May 23. A
possible PHAINOPEPLA was near Camp Sherman May 20.

WHITE-FACED IBIS were reported during the week from many western Oregon
locations. Most were in flight so many flocks were probably reported
several times. Quite a few BLUE-WINGED TEAL and large numbers of CEDAR
WAXWINGS were reported during the week.

A PECTORAL SANDPIPER was at the North Spit of Coos Bay May 15, a
different PECTORAL was there May 21. A PACIFIC GOLDEN-PLOVER was there
May 18. A SANDHILL CRANE was over Siltcoos Outlet May 23.

Three FRANKLIN'S GULLS flew past Boiler Bay May 19. A flock of 16 WHITE
PELICANS were at Tillamook Bay last week-end. A LONG-BILLED CURLEW was at
Gearhart May 20. A PACIFIC GOLDEN-PLOVER was at the South Jetty of the
Columbia River May 21. The next day a PECTORAL SANDPIPER and two
YELLOW-HEADED BLACKBIRDS were there.

WHITE-FACED IBIS, BLACK-NECKED STILTS, and a GREAT EGRET were at
Ridgefield NWR during the week. Two BLACK TERNS were at Jackson Bottom in
Hillsboro May 17; four were at Fernhill Wetlands in Forest Grove May 19.
Seven were there along with two FORSTER'S TERNS May 21. BLACK TERNS were
also reported during the week from Baskett Slough NWR, Ankeny NWR, and
Fern Ridge Reservoir. A BLACK-NECKED STILT was at Ankeny NWR May 16. Two
GREAT EGRETS were at Baskett Slough NWR May 23.

Seven WHITE PELICANS, large numbers of CLARK'S and WESTERN GREBES, and
FORSTER'S TERNS were at Fern Ridge Reservoir during the week.

BLACK SWIFTS are now back at Salt Creek Falls southeast of Eugene. UPLAND
SANDPIPERS are now back at Bear Valley at their regular fields near the
west end of Scotty Creek Road.
