An EASTERN KINGBIRD was reported by Jack & Murrel Dawson from their Benton
City home on May 21.

Ruth Fischer located a singing WESTERN WOOD-PEWEE along DeMoss Road in West
Richland, on May 22.

Also on May 22, Madeleine Brown and Lyle Wilhelmi observed 5 AMERICAN WHITE
PELICANS soaring over Richland.

And a breeding plumage PACIFIC LOON was observed by Michael Bentley north
of Priest Rapids Dam on May 22.

On May 23, Laurie Ness and Bob Woodley located a singing YELLOW-BREASTED
CHAT at Zintel Canyon Greenway in Kennewick. Several chats have returned
to their traditional location in Johnson Park in Richland.

Laurie Ness reported a singing SWAINSON'S THRUSH in her Pasco yard on May 26.

A group of birders including Steve and Kasey Mlodinow, Bill Tweit, Bob
Flores and Ryan Shaw birded Franklin county on May 26. Among many
sightings were a female MOURNING WARBLER at Lyons Ferry State Park, 15
WHITE-FACED IBIS at Kahlotus Lake, and VAUX'S SWIFTS at Hooper. They also
mentioned a Eurasian GREEN-WINGED TEAL at Columbia NWR the previous day.
If the ibis remain and breeding is documented, it would be a first for
Washington State.

On May 27, Ruth Fischer watched 2 COMMON NIGHTHAWKS catching insects over
the Yakima River near Chamna Park.

Yesterday, May 28, Laurie Ness observed 86 male WOOD DUCKS and a late
GOLDEN-CROWNED KINGLET at Sacajawea State Park.
