I tried to post this yesterday but apparently it did not get listed.
Yesterday, around 11:30, I was on my deck which is located on the eastern
edge of Lummi Bay, Whatcom County. While observing the activity at my
feeders I observed a wheeling flock of large white birds. At first glance I
assumed them to be gulls. I wondered what had so many gulls excited so many
I glassed them. Not gulls. There were 50-60 American White Pelicans.
They caught a thermal over the mud flats and were rising with it. They
moved south as they gained height. Wow!
I am taking my film in today.
