After about 8 years I finally quit kicking myself for not getting a photo of
the nestling Vaux's Swift that I put back into the nest in Sonoma Co., CA.
My parents had a nest in their chimney just above the damper of their
fireplace. Being July when we visited, there hadn't been a fire in the
fireplace for several months. I would guess it is common.
