Speaking of eagles, today I took a look at the Capitol Lake nest here in Olympia and was surprised to
see two large eaglets being fed. There was only one known to be in there for sure. As soon as I got to
the office, I learned that a neighbor of the nest had called to report that an eaglet had been cast from
the nest, the victim of harassment by nasty, mean birds. The body of the eaglet was in a bag on her porch.
I was surprised to hear this since I had just seen two healthy eaglets in the nest. I drove over and
picked up the dead bird, taking careful note of the fact that it was a crow.
