Birders,

Some of you may be interested in the attached season totals of birds
banded at the Vaseux Lake Bird Observatory in the Okanagan Valley of
southern B.C. (Vaseux Lake is located about 15 miles south of
Penticton, B.C. and not far north of the U.S. border.) The banding
station operated from August 1 to September 30 on a daily basis.

The list of species is obviously slanted toward those preferring
riparian habitats, but I was surprised at the high numbers of some
species, especially Gray Catbirds and Northern Waterthrushes-- I had
no idea they were that numerous in the area.
