Tweets,

I decided to try for the Tropical Kingbird today, despite the
weather. Got a break in the weather, the rain stopping just as I got
to Ocean Shores. And then an even better break with the bird; while
stopped on Marine View Dr., a fellow birder, Hank Vail, pulled up and
gave me directions to where he had just seen the bird. I went where
he indicated, and though I didn't see the bird immediately, it
eventually showed, and I had several nice looks over the course of
about an hours' viewing. I never heard it, but Hank said he had heard
it several times while watching earlier.

The bird's location today was on the east side of Duck Lake Dr.,
between Wakina Lp. and Scorpion Ct. There is a pumping station on
Duck Lake Dr., a building with a blue metal roof behind a cyclone
fence. The Kingbird was seen immediately north and east of this
building. This location is just west of Bill's Spit.

After watching the Kingbird, I went for a walk on the beach north of
the jetty. There I found a mixed flock of foraging peeps (Western,
Dunlin and Sanderling) numbering about 2,000. Watched the peeps for a
while, and then a spectacular sunset capped the day.
