Hello Tweets,

Today Dave Hayden and I birded the general Ocean Shores route, as weather
conditions were favorable throughout the day with mostly sunny skies, and
only occasional light wind at times. We encountered a few notable
highlights, despite NOT relocating the Tropical Kingbird that was last seen
on the 6th, but possibly later. Our main highlight was 3 PALM WARBLERS at
two locations, with 2 birds together in a Scotch Broom thicket on the north
side of the Ocean Shores Marina at 9:30am, then 1 bird seen with Marv Breece
flushed up from rather sparce sandy conditions and briefly viewed along the
rock outcroping along the south portion of the Ocean Shores STP at 1:25pm.
Our second highlight was locating 6 EARED GREBES at three seperate locations
to be mentioned below in highlight list at mentioned locations. This is my
personal highest number in Grays Harbor Co. for a given day, but is possible
there could be more around, especially along relatively private Duck Lake,
and other nearby freshwater locations within the Ocean Shores area.
Shorebird numbers remained quite low, but waterfowl and gull numbers were
relatively stable throughout the day at most locations. Dave and I birded
with Marv Breece after 12:30pm, along with searching the Tropical Kingbird,
but visiting several locations including Cabana Pond. Perhaps the kingbird
could still remain, but at a different location than last seen, or possibly
it has fallen victim to several accipiters in the area, or has moved on. A
