Saturday, November 10, 9:31 PM. Hi, this is Steven Mlodinow. Today I had a
SWAMP SPARROW near Sylvana on Hevly road. Go east on Hevly Road from the
town of Sylvana. You'll come to a sign showing a 90 degree turn giving a
lowered speed limit. There is a pull off just beyond that on the right. Park
there and pish the sparrow flock. Other highlights include a REDHEAD and an
EARED GREBE at the Stanwood Sewage Pond and 67 EARED GREBE at Utsalady Bay.
That's it. Good luck and good birding.

Sunday, November 11, 12:57 PM. Hello, This is Bill LaFramboise. Nancy and I
have seen a immature GYRFALCON at Sammish Flats near the West 90. The bird is
sitting on a pole right near the corner. Thank you. Goodbye.

Sunday, November 11, 8:24 PM. Hello, this is Hal Opperman at (425) 635-0503.
Today, Sunday, November 11, Jo Lynn Edwards and I birded Western Whatcom
County. The highlight from the Lummi Flats was a flock of about 40 COMMOM
REDPOLLS seen along South Red River Road, 3/4 of a mile East of Haxton Way.
We observed the birds feeding in some big old Alders along the slough for 15
minutes or so around noon. One of these birds might definitely pass for a
HOARY REDPOLL, if there is such a thing. It had a generally paler appearance
due to the lighter ground colored mantle feathers. It had a pale rump, and
light flank streaking with an immaculate white undertail coverts. The bird
had no pink on the breast, therefore it was probably a female. The rest of
the flock was composed of COMMON REDPOLLS of various ages and sexes. Also on
the Flats were a flock of 135 SWANS, both TUNDRA and TRUMPERTER in a field on
the North side of North Red Rive Road about 200 or 300 yard West of the
Hillaire Road bridge. Good luck and good birding.

Monday, November 12, 11:24 AM. This is Dennis Duffy. There is a TROPICAL
KINGBIRD directly south of the Stanwood Sewage Pond. I've been watching it
for about 20 minutes and it just called a few times for me. So, to reach
this location, turn in like you are going to the Stanwood Sewage Pond and
keep going and the road makes a left and then right where it makes another
right there is a sign that says 95th Avenue NW and the bird is in that
location, flycatching. It seem to be dug in here. Anyway, thanks.
