Help please. I was out on the Stillaguamish flats today and stopped to
look at a bird that seemed a little unusual. It looked like a Cattle
Egret. Spitting image of the picture in National Geographic, and also
matches Sibley. Sibley notes that the bird has been seen on the coast,
but is rare.
I've pretty much eliminated other options based on size, plumage, bill
color and size. This was a solitary bird that was walking around with
four or five cows, seemed to be particularely attracted to one cow, even
moved very close to it as the cow lay down.
Is it possible?
