Hi Tweets:
The fields are flooded down in the Kent Valley. You never know what you'll
see. Yesterday a groups of us in the Kent Ponds saw 3 falcons: a Kestrel,
an imm Peregrine Falcon, and a very-pale Merlin (Prairie sub-species). All
were seen perching on snags. Lots of ducks in the ponds. A Northern Shrike
was in the area.
Over at the Boeing pond area which is on 59th Ave, north of S. 212th St
next to the now-public road through there, there were about 30 Cackling
Canada Geese. 59th now cuts through the area, going north from 212th St at
the light at the KOA.
Today at noon Roger Orness called from the Kent Valley. He had just seen 4
Tundra Swans, 2 ad and 2 imm in the north part of Smith Bros Dairy farm.
The fields are flooded there too, both north and south of 277th St. The
swans were seen about 1/4 mile north of 277th, and west of West Valley
Highway.
