Tweeters,
Friday afternoon I took a cruise through south Thurston County. The only
uncommon species noted were three White Tailed Kites near the Chehalis
River. The location is called Meadows on the Delorme Atlas Map pg 45, it is
within 3/4 of a mile of the Lewis County line. To reach the area turn off
old Hwy 99 onto Prather Rd SW (south of Grand Mound). Turn left onto 219th
Ave SW, then left again onto Meadows Rd. There were two adults and one
immature present during my visit. Scan the fields and treeline just beyond
the bridge to the end of the road.
