Great night last wasn't it. Went out about 0130 to check on the Leonids.
A spectacular, shadow casting flare with lingering wisps of smoke curled
in the upper atmosphere. This was accompanied by a couple pairs of great
horned owls yelping and hooting. More glowing lines etched the sky.
Barred owls cooked for you all from the valley. Traveling over the 10
year old doug fir regen a barn owl shrieked repeatedly and, from the
darker corners cedar forest, western screech owls tooted. Wonder how
they interpreted the streaks of fire . Cold feet moved me inside about
