Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This
report was made Tuesday November 20. If you have anything to add call

A mostly yellow plumaged SUMMER TANAGER is now being seen in Sawyer Park
near Bend. A couple of COMMON REDPOLLS are in the same area. From the
parking lot walk south along the west side river trail to the end. The
bird hangs out at the house there.

A possible LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL was seen off the dam at Fern Ridge
Reservoir November 17, in a situation like last spring. The halfway
PROTHONOTARY WARBLER continues to be seen where state route 86 crosses
Pine Creek.

There has been heavy southward movements along the coast during the week,
including a number of shearwaters and alcids. A couple of REDPOLLS were
at a Bend feeder November 20; six were near Imbler in northeast Oregon
November 16; and 50 were on Mt. Harris November 18.

The GYRFALCON continues to be seen along New River in Curry County. Seven
SANDHILL CRANES flew over Millicoma Marsh in Coos Bay November 18. Nine
WILLETS are now in the Coos Bay area. A MOURNING DOVE was south of
Newport November 15. Seven SNOW BUNTINGS were along Clatsop Beach north
of the Sunset Beach access November 15, but did not remain.

Flocks of WHITE PELICANS continue to be seen in the Sauvie
Island/Ridgefield NWR area. A SHORT-EARED OWL was in Scappoose Bottoms
November 17, and several are now at Baskett Slough NWR. The two TREE
SPARROWS are still being seen near the junction of Livermore and
Smithfield Roads in the refuge.

A BLACK PHOEBE is now at the end of Dorsey Lane, off Mallard Lane, a
couple of miles south of Dayton. One was in the same area last winter.
TRUMPETER SWANS are now back in the Airlie area of sw. Polk County. Over
4300 ROBINS came off a night roost at Whitehorse Park west of Grants Pass
November 14.

On November 14 two GLAUCOUS-WINGED GULLS were at the Narrows in Malheur
NWR. Nine SNOW BUNTINGS and an AMERICAN GOLDEN-PLOVER were at Brownlee
Reservoir in Richland November 15.

Thats it for this week.
