Columbia Estuary Report - 11/23/2001

A pair of PEREGRINES were flying together over the Skipanon R.
this morning. The ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLER is still easily pished
up near the abandoned cars at King Av.

Todd Thornton saw a CLAY-COLORED SPARROW along Airport Rd last
week. There are lots of sparrows hanging out there. I will
begin spreading sparrow chum for the Columbia Estuary Count
(December 16) next week.

I walked the beach north from Sunset Access this morning. Three
BALD EAGLES were working over something dead on the beach much
too far up the beach for me to check out. Not much going on
on the beach or near ocean. I flushed another RUFFED GROUSE
on the jeep trail on my way back to my truck.
