I spent about 20 minutes watching the ocean from the
Peter Iredale overlook. This spot has the advantage
of being able to drive up and watch the ocean from
ones car, if necessary and it's high enough that one
can see over the breakers. The diversity is never
quite as high here as the jetty, though.

There were lots of scoters most of them not quite evenly
split between WHITE-WINGED and SURF SCOTERS. There were
a few loons flying around, some north, some south. Most
of the gulls were big pink-foots.

Birds seen (in taxonomic order):

Pacific Loon 3
Common Loon 1
Western Grebe 5
Brandt's Cormorant 1
Double-crested Cormorant 3
Surf Scoter 800
White-winged Scoter 1000
Black Scoter 400
Herring Gull 2
Western Gull 10
Glaucous-winged Gull 2
Unidentified gull 20
American Crow 3

Total number of species seen: 13
