Today I birded Skagit County starting at the residence of Donna Kish in
Stanwood. I arrived shortly after 9:00. After an hour or so, Dennis Duffy
and I watched at least 3 COMMON REDPOLLS in a flock of PINE SISKINS.

At noon I was leaving the Kish residence with other birders to look for a
CATTLE EGRET when Paul Moorhead, who was riding with me, spied the TROPICAL
KINGBIRD along the road just past Donna's driveway. The bird headed for
Donna's and so did we. We indulged in fine looks at this active bird. We
failed to see the WHITE-THROATED SPARROW reported yesterday by the
Sullivans. We did see a SLATE-COLORED JUNCO and a YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLER.

Later, the CATTLE EGRET was seen by several birders near the intersection of
Marine and Tomle Roads south of town.
