Friday, November 16, 7:06 AM. Hi, this is Tom Aversa, reporting on a trip
yesterday down on the coast. It began at Tokeland and among a huge flock of
MARBLED GODWITS, 850 birds, there was a single BAR-TAILED GODWIT. It appeared
to be an immature bird. Also, a SEMIPALMATED PLOVER there in Tokeland. Moving
up toward Ocean Shores, there was a 4 GREAT EGRETS at the Bay City Bridge. At
Ocean Shores, by Bowerman Basin, was a single adult SNOW GOOSE. At Ocean
Shores there were 7 GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GEESE on the golf course.
Visibility on the coast wasn't great, but I did see 1 BROWN PELICAN. Also,
good numbers of gulls, massive numbers CALIFORNIA GULLS. A single PALM
WARBLER in scotch broom across from the Silver King Motel. Returning through
Brady, there was a single WHITE-TAILED KITE and a PEREGRINE FALCON hunting
the fields there.

Saturday, November 17. 2:55 PM. This is Dennis Duffy. This afternoon, I
observed 2 CATTLE EGRETS in northwestern Snohomish County. between Sylvana
and Stanwood. The first was one was located yesterday by Jeff Osmond. This
bird is along Norman Road, 2.7 miles west of its intersection with Pioneer
Highway. There is a yellow house on the south side of the road and a farm on
the north side of the road. It was on the north side of the road with some
cattle. I met up with Jeff at that point. We headed toward Stanwood where we
saw the second CATTLE EGRET along Marine Drive. It was in the yard of the
first farm on the west side, excuse me, the east side of Marine Drive, just
north of the intersection with Norman Road. Thanks.

Sunday, November 18, 12:45 PM. Hi. This is Greg Toffic. This is an update on
the birds of the Stanwood area. One of the two CATTLE EGRETS is present. In
fact I'm looking at it right now, right next to a barn on Marine Drive, north
of Norman Road and opposite the address 24124 Marine Drive. Also, the
TROPICAL KINGBIRD, although it was not present this morning at the house just
east of the location along Laramee (?) Road, I hope that is clear, showed up
at about 10 minutes after 12. As I speak, the CATTLE EGRET has flown off to
the North and I've lost it, about 200 yards past this location. I'm not sure
where it is going to be when you get this message. Thanks.

Sunday, November 18, 12:50 PM. Hi. This is Tom Aversa, 782-7342. I was just
looking at a LONG-EARED OWL here at Woodland Park Zoo, the first one that I'm
ever been aware of being here, right across from the Raptor Pond in a pine.
The CROWS are making quit a commotion.

Sunday, November 18, 6:21 PM. Hi. This is Evelyn Peasley (206) 782-9018. I
went to the Skagit earlier today, Sunday the 18th. There were a few nice
things. There was a NORTHERN MOCKINGBIRD flying around over the dike that is
nearest to the headquarters of the Skagit Wildlife Area. That was around
11:30 this morning. And at approximately noon there were maybe 20,000 SNOW
GEESE settled in a field along Fir Island Road between Mann and Lopez. Later
on, up at the Sammish, we saw 20 TRUMPETERS in a field that was bordered by
Sunset on the South and Thomas (?) on the East. That's all. Thank you.

Sunday, November 18, 6:28 PM. Hello. This is Neil Zimmerman. I led a field
trip for Seattle Audubon in the Stanwood/Skagit Flats area on Sunday the
18th. We started at Stanwood and we did not find the TROPICAL KINGBIRD at its
last reported location. But we went to the Big Ditch and as we went to the
turnstile and went to the left into the woods we found 5 REDPOLLS feeding in
the trees there. We got great looks, close ups. That was approximately 9:30
in the morning.
