Sunset Beach, Clatsop County, Oregon
November 30, 2001
Beach walk 0900-0945hr

I took advantage of a break between wind storms (it was
only raining) to walk the beach north from the Sunset Beach
access. There was a large, feeding flock of DUNLIN,
SANDERLINGS and WESTERN SANDPIPERS.

I also came upon a fairly fresh, dead COMMON DOLPHIN.

The RUFFED GROUSE reported during the last two trips was
seen again today in pretty much the same place.

Dead stuff:
Black-legged Kittiwake 1
Common Murre 1
Common Dolphin 1

Birds seen (in taxonomic order):

Double-crested Cormorant 4
Bald Eagle 1
Ruffed Grouse 1
Sanderling 500
Western Sandpiper 100
Dunlin 5000
Mew Gull 1
Western Gull 10
Northern Flicker 2
Black-capped Chickadee 1
Winter Wren 1
Savannah Sparrow 1
Song Sparrow 3
Dark-eyed Junco 1

Total number of species seen: 14
