2 WESTERN SCREECH-OWLS were heard by Ruth Fischer at her Richland home on
September 13.

Mary Lilga reported a WHITE-BREASTED NUTHATCH among a few of the more
common Red-breasted Nuthatches on September 13 near Snyder and Camas
Streets in Richland. Red-breasted Nuthatches seem to be moving through in
higher than usual numbers and can be frequently heard, especially in North
Richland.

On September 19, Jack & Murrel Dawson had a WINTER WREN and a
GOLDEN-CROWNED KINGLET in their Benton City yard.

Laurie Ness saw a JAEGER while driving across the I-182 bridge from Pasco
to Richland on September 19. Although Parasitic Jaeger would be most
likely, the species of this one could not be determined.

A RED-NECKED GREBE was among a large flock of American Coots and American
Wigeon at Columbia Point on September 19.

On September 24, Bob Woodley had 2 WHITE-THROATED SPARROWS in his Richland
yard.

At the Yakima Delta on September 26, Bob Woodley found a BLACK-BELLIED
PLOVER and a FORSTER'S TERN. At Nelson Island in Groves Park in Richland,
Bob observed 3 COMMON TERNS.

SANDHILL CRANES have been migrating over the Tri-Cities. Margaret Greger
reported 100 over Richland on September 27.

Dark-eyed Juncos and White-crowned Sparrows have returned to many feeders.
Thanks to the Dawsons & Margaret Greger for their reports.

To report your own sightings, please give your name, phone number and
sightings after the tone. Thank you.
