Thanks to those of you suggesting recent sightings of the geese. Frank Todd is presently working on three new books, one of which is a photo-illustrated handbook of North American waterfowl in which he wishes to include photos of plumages seldom shown in guides. So many books show birds in the cleanest of breeding plumage, but ignore juvenile, molting, or eclipse plumage. Frank will also be looking for other photo opportunities, most notably black scoters, perhaps one of the least understood North American waterfowl species.
