A first winter Harris Sparrow is joining a flock of Zonotrichia sparrows at my
house at 20610 Vashon Hwy SW on Vashon Island. It was seen for the first time
this afternoon and confirmed by other birders here from the local Audubon
chapter.
Take the Fauntleroy Ferry to Vashon Island. Schedule:

Follow the Highway south from the ferry dock through three four way stops with
flashing lights. The last of these is 204th, about 200 yards north of my
house.
The house is on the east or left side of the highway with a high laurel hedge
in front. You can park in the half moon driveway.
The flock can be viewed from the south sided of the house feeding on seed
spread below a large bush with a single, tall birch growing out of it.
