Today Larry Bowman and I conducted a Hawk Watch and bird survey on the ridge
of the Rattlesnake Hills northwest from the summit of Rattlesnake MT
(elevation 1074 meters - 3600 ft) on the Arid Lands Ecology Reserve in the
Hanford Reach National Monument, Benton County. (See DeLorme page 39, A-B,
4) The following is a list of the birds we observed.

Red-tailed Hawk 1
Chukar 20+
Common Raven 2
American Robin 3
Winter Wren 1
Canyon Wren 1
Ruby-crowned Kinglet 3
Horned Lark 43+
White-crowned Sparrow 4+
Golden-crowned Sparrow 6+
Dark-eyed Junco 4

Given the weather conditions and location, we should count ourselves lucky
to have observed any birds at all !
