Monday, 10/8, 7:39 am. Hi, this is Stephen Mlodinow. Yesterday, Sunday, a
bunch
of us birded the north end of Willapa Bay. Highlights included the
continuing adult
BAR TAILED GODWIT at Tokeland Marina. Elsewhere in Tokeland we had three
WHITE THROATED SPARROWS and an AMERICAN GOLDEN PLOVER. At the
city park in Raymond we had an apparently pure YELLOW SHAFTED FLICKER and
a late BLACK THROATED GRAY WARBLER. Near Bay Center we had another WHITE
THROATED SPARROW, and a PALM WARBLER, as well as a late YELLOW WARBLER.
That's it, good luck

Sat. 10/6, 9:38pm Hi this is Jim Quinn, today Maurice SetBennevente and I
went birding
in the Stanwood area. Stanwood sewage ponds had lots of ducks, nothing
unusual but
we did have a PEREGRINE and a MERLIN fly over. And then at Ivy Road just
west of
Stanwood, we had an early GOLDEN CROWNED SPARROW, a couple of late COMMON
YELLOWTHROATS, and out at the end of the dike looking over the bay we had a
GREAT
EGRET, along with about 400-500 RING BILLED GULLS, which were feeding on
some
sort of spawning fish. That's it. Good luck and good birding.

Monday, 10/8, 7:54 am. This is Ed Swan at 206-463-7976. A HARRIS SPARROW,
first
winter plumage, has been at my house here on Vashon Island since Saturday.
It was again
here this a.m., and it's hanging out with about 30-40 WHITE CROWNED and
GOLDEN
CROWNED SPARROWS.
