Yesterday we saw two different Bar-tailed Godwits at the Tokeland Marina, an
adult and a somewhat faded juvenal, in among the Marbled Godwits that
appeared to number 500 or more. We first saw one of the Bar-tailed with a
portion of the Marbled Godwit flock some miles south of Tokeland along
Willapa Bay, foraging on the tideflats just before the tide covered the
area. A Peregrine nearly took one Marbled Godwit at Tokeland, and put the
flock up for half an hour.
