10/20 1:08pm this is Kevin Aanerud. This morning at Discovery park was a
NORTHERN HOBBY. The bird was seen from the south bluff trail. If you walk
down the trail about halfway, there is a wooden observation platform, from
there looking towards the lighthouse the bird was perched on a tree a little
bit down the bluff. It has been seen by others and has occasionally been
seen flying to and fro. Probably your best shot of finding it would be
along the beach there. Good luck and good birding.

Saturday, 10/20, 8:38pm. Jan Bragg, 206-524-3460. There was a flock of 8
EVENING GROSBEAKS feeding on maple seeds this morning at Magnuson Park in
Seattle. Five HERRING GULLS were on the raft in the swim area Sat & Sun
morning and evening last weekend, and there were again 2 there this morning.
There is a PACIFIC LOON nearby on the lake.

Sunday, 10/21, 2:48pm. This is Stephen Molodinow. I and many others spent
the day looking for the NORTHERN HOBBY without any success, at least until
around noon or so. There was a GRAY-CROWNED ROSY FINCH at the lighthouse
itself at Discovery Park. Also there was a CLIFF SWALLOW and 2 VIOLET GREEN
SWALLOWS. Up in Everett there was a late CASPIAN TERN. Yesterday I birded
around eastern Washington at various places in the Columbia Basin.
Highlights included 4 WHITE WINGED SCOTERS at the Walla Walla River Delta, 3
CLARK'S GREBES there, and 5 DUNLIN there as well. An AMERICAN TREE SPARROW
was at the sewage pond in Washtucna, two SLATE COLORED JUNCOS were at
Washtucna, and 2 more SLATE COLORED JUNCOS were at Lyon's Ferry and a Golden
Crowned Sparrow was at Lyon's Ferry. That's it, good luck and good birding.

Monday, 10/22, 2:58pm. This is Dennis Dffy. Today there was a FORSTERS'
TERN on the Edmonds waterfront.
