Bob Woodley reported 2 HORNED GREBES and 1 RED-NECKED GREBE as well as an
ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLER at Leslie Groves Park in Richland on October 5th.
The Red-necked Grebe as well as the expected Horned Grebes remained until
at least October 15.

Laurie Ness spotted a MERLIN near the Edison exit of Route 240 on October
8th and a WINTER WREN in her yard on Road 44 in Pasco on October 9th.

10 SANDHILL CRANES flew over Bob Woodley's North Richland home on October
14 and a PINE SISKIN made a brief appearance at his niger feeder on October
17.

On October 18, Nancy LaFramboise found 2 CANVASBACKS among the large
assembly of American Coots and assorted ducks at Columbia Point in
Richland. Bill & Nancy LaFramboise found 3 there on October 21.

Margaret Greger noticed 3 SPOTTED TOWHEES in Groves Park in Richland on
October 21.

Despite the wind and high water at the Yakima Delta, good birds are still
present. Yesterday, October 22, Nancy LaFramboise found a single
GRAY-CROWNED ROSY-FINCH along the dike road and today found an adult male
SURF SCOTER at the boat launch just west of Wye Park.

To report your own sightings, please give your name, phone number and
sightings after the tone. Thank you.
