The second edition of Peter Berthold's "Bird Migration: A general survey"
came out recently. This ~200 page treatise on bird migration is an excellent
review of our current knowledge on bird movement/migration. It is well
written, but not an easy read. The utterly fascinating details of this
amazing natural phenomenon make the effort well worthwhile. I highly
recommend Berthold's book for all interested in understanding bird migration
in all its variations.

Bird Migration was published by Oxford University Press in 2001. I bought if
from Buteo Books, but I believe it is also available from Amazon.
